Owen's Art

Randy Owens

Randy Owens was born in Baltimore, Maryland on July 24, 1955.  He lives and works in Davidsonville.  Randy attended Northern Virginia Community College, where he majored in fine art and pursued a career as a tennis professional. In 1978, Owens was introduced to auto racing.  Drawn to the vibrant color, clean form and crisp edges of serigraphy, Randy - self taught - began making serigraphs (silkscreens) of motor racing subjects.

Randy Owens  has established a strong place on the American racing art scene, having published over 200 handmade serigraph editions.  His realistic style is modern and evolutionary.  Color and motion are the central theme.

Over the years, Owens has staged over 150 exhibitions of his work in five countries, including a 10 year retrospective show at the famous l'art et l'automobile gallery in New York City, and major exhibitions at Axis galleries in Tokyo, and at the National Automobile Museum in Reno, NV.  He continues to travel and show his newest works at the races.
